In autumn 2006, the listed company Ambu A/S needed, as usual at this time of year, to prepare its annual report. The report had to be printed in both Danish and English, with both versions needing to be published simultaneously.

For this type of job in particular, the entire production process is subject to considerable pressure of time. We minimise the time it takes by automating the process, extracting the text from the graphics environment and importing the translation in one step. Traditionally, this process involved an awful lot of cutting and pasting.
However, Translation House of Scandinavia has invested in language technology tools to automate the procedure. Consequently, the primary task for us – on top of supplying the perfect translation – is to check that the text has been extracted correctly, and that the translation has been imported correctly. Secondly, we tweak text boxes etc. as they often need resizing, a job for the DTP department.
